Knife Hand Strike

A knife hand strike is a popular technique used in T.V. and Movies. It is also and effective method for delivering hand strikes.

All fingers are held straight and tightly together. The thumb is tucked and slightly bent at the knuckle.

Bringing your elbow up to shoulder height, extend elbow to deliver the knife hand to target. It can also be executed from the outside in, striking with the ridge just over the thumb. This may not be as powerful without the added flex of the elbow, but the circumstances may determine which way to strike.

The neck is an ideal target. Soft tissues areas provide a more suitable target rather than bony areas with this hand technique.
