Nose Pressure Point
The nose pressure point can be struck in three directions: On topFrom the sideUp underTo strike the top of the nose, a closed fist hammer blow or the edge of a knife hand will cause pain, eye watering and possible bleeding.
Striking the side of the nose is practical if the attack is from behind you. If grabbed from behind a backward elbow strike will be effective causing pain, eye watering, possible bleeding and jerking back of the assailant’s head, creating disorientation.
If the attacker is close in front of you, a palm strike up under the nose will be effectual even if the assailant is taller than you. Contrary to general belief, this will not shove bone into the brain instantly killing the receiver. Although any powerful blow to the head/nose cold be fatal, it wouldn’t be related to nasal bones being driven into the brain. It would be a result from the shock transmitted to the brain. Remember the objective is to deliver enough pain, forcing the attacker to loosen his grip enough to escape.
