Stun Guns

Stun guns are electroshock weapons that temporarily incapacitate by using a electrical jolt to cause temporary muscle paralysis. The technology requires the use of high voltage to deliver low amperage through the resistance of the human body.

They deliver an electric shock by direct contact. You must be in close enough to physically touch the attacker. The energy of the stun gun is transferred to the attacker’s muscles, interrupting the neurological impulses that control muscle movement. The attacker will lose muscular control and may be totally incapacitated. If the attacker should touch you, the current will NOT pass to you.

Just touching the attacker will repel them and you’ll have time to get away. Further contact will cause disorientation and eventually they will drop to the ground.

These guns can be purchased to deliver from 80,000 volts to over 775,000 volts. Some come with a disable pin attached to a strap to be worn in your wrist. If the gun is taken from you the pin will come out, disabling the unit so that it cannot be used on you. This is a handy feature for those of us of a smaller build!
